Question 1

Is there an IXL answer key?

Accepted Answer

No. IXL generates each question with different values for every student and every attempt, so a fixed list of answers cannot match your screen. Sites advertising an IXL answer key are selling something else. What works is seeing the method with your own numbers, which is what a worked solution gives you.

Question 2

Does ShowYourWork work from an IXL screenshot?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Screenshot the question, including any diagram or table, and upload or paste it. The AI restates the problem so you can confirm it read your numbers correctly, then solves that exact problem step by step.

Question 3

Can I check my answer before I submit it on IXL?

Accepted Answer

Yes. Generate the solution and compare it to yours, or use grader mode: paste or photograph your attempt and it marks the specific step that is wrong and explains why, before the SmartScore takes the hit.

Question 4

How does the SmartScore work?

Accepted Answer

It rises with correct answers and falls with misses, and a miss costs more the closer you are to 100. That rewards understanding the method, because the questions keep changing their numbers. Practice mode gives you extra problems on the same skill so you can get a run of correct answers in a row.

Question 5

Which IXL subjects does it help with?

Accepted Answer

Math at every level from middle school through calculus, and the calculation and concept skills in IXL science. Language arts skills like grammar and reading comprehension are not what this tool is built for.

Question 6

Is using this with IXL cheating?

Accepted Answer

Copying answers in is, and it also does not work, since the unit test uses different numbers. Reading a worked solution to learn the step you were missing, then doing the next question yourself, is studying. Explanations and practice problems are free and unlimited for exactly that reason.
